Installation Tip Sheet

  • Choosing a 60" Miracle Tube is a good choice to protect hardwood tree seedlings from deer and rabbit predation and herbicide splash during weed management. The more mowing, mulching, and weed management you do, the greater your planting success will be.

  • Situations and species selection dictate size applications from 12" tubes to 72" tubes used for hardwoods, conifers, shrubs, fruit trees, garden plants, and vineyards.

  • THE VENT HOLES GO UP AND THE SOLID PART (NO VENT HOLES) GOES TOWARDS THE GROUND.

  • The length of the stake needed is as follows:

       18" stake for 12" and 18" tubes.

       30" stake for 24" and 30" tubes. 36" or 48" for 36" tubes.

48" , 60" , and 72" tubes use a stake the same length of the  tube.

  • If you are planting in looser soils as in a woodland or recently harvested woodland you may need a longer stake as the soil will be looser there.

  • The stake is attached to the outside of the tube using the provided zip ties.

  • Place the stake on the side receiving the strongest prevailing winds.

  • Tubes will last at least 5 to 7 years.

  • Tree planting is work. Site preparation and post planting care will determine the success of your seedling growth and health. Our tree tubes are incredible as they provide a healthy and protective environment to promote growth. My advice is to plan on checking on your trees as they grow and manage for weeds and grasses that will otherwise compete with the seedling’s roots.

  • The tube is cuffed/curled to ensure the seedlings are not damaged as they grow out of the tube. The tubes have a perforated line on the side of the tube which aids in removal when that time comes.
